Itinerary

Day 1Arrival at Bujumbura International Airport

You will be picked up by a guide who will serve you all throughout your safari package. A guide will get you to your Hotel for a Briefing session after which you visit the burial chamber of Prince Louis Rwagasore, a hero of the independence of Burundi. We then climb to the “Belvedere” on the top of the hill, a dominating point of Bujumbura, offering a unique view over Lake Tanganyika- Be Entertained by Burundi Drummers.

Day 2Kalera Waterfalls and Burundi National Museum

Be Prepared for a 3 hour drive after an early breakfast– Drive ten kilometers south to visit “la Pierre de Stanley et Livingstone” the commemorating stone of the place where the famous explorers Stanley and Livingstone rested during their attempt to find the source of the Nile; also, visit “Chutes de Kalera” or the spectacular “Kalera Falls”. In the afternoon travel to Gitega to visit the Burundi National Museum before returning to your hotel for dinner and overnight in Bujumbura.

Day 3Transfer to Nyungwe Forest

After Breakfast drive for about 6 hours to Nyungwe forest national park in Rwanda. Pass through magnificent views of the beautiful hilly countryside which gives Rwanda its name as a country of a thousand hills. After lunch, trek the forests in pursuit for the Blue monkeys, Angolan Colobus monkeys among others- Overnight at Gisakura Lodge. (Mid class Hotel; Only option)

Day 4Chimpanzees Tracking in Nyungwe Forest

On this new day expect to track Chimpanzees in Nyungwe a spectacular forest that offers dramatic steeply forested landscape and is incredibly dense with numerous animal trails allowing access to tourists. Your guided walk in search of the chimps and other primates May last up to 2 Hours. After lunch Transfer to Butare where you will visit the Historical Museum of Rwanda- Overnight at Ibis hotel.

Day 5Transfer to Kigali

Visit Rwanda National museum and the Genocide memorial site- (3 Hours Drive)After breakfast- visit the Rwandan national Museum- Transfer to Kigali where You will Visit Rwanda Genocide Memorial to understand what happened in Rwanda in 1994 a year in which 1 million people died within 100 days and Overnight in Kigali. Mid Hotel Okapi, Top: Mille collines. also visit The National Museum.

Day 6Transfer to Gisenyi

After Breakfast, Visit the Genocide Memorial Museum then Drive to Gisenyi town at the shore of the Lake Kivu- we will have a stop-over in Ruhengeri for lunch at Muhabura Hotel. After lunch drive to Gisenyi where you will have a spectacular performance of the Intore Traditional dancers. The performance is regarded by many as one of the highlights of their tour in Rwanda.

Day 7Gorilla trekking in the Virungas

Awake and proceed to the park head quarters where you will be briefed on how to conduct yourself while in the company of a gorilla group. You will meet your guide here and proceed to the starting point of the trek to our allocated group of gorillas. The distance of the trek varies depending on where the gorillas are as well as what the weather conditions are. Meeting with these peaceful and enormous creatures in their home is a privilege every one should get.

Day 8Nyiragongo Volcano climbing

One of the most exciting days of your life is here. Start the day by climbing up the Nyiragongo Mountain. You will arrive at the top late in the afternoon at around 04 or 05.00 am. You have all evening to gape at the lava lake which you can see from a short distance and this makes you one of the few lucky people to experience this.

Day 9Back from the Volcano

Have breakfast at the mountain top and at 7.00am; back down from the Volcano. You will most probably arrive in Kibati village at around 10 or 11.00am where you will meet your Driver and transfer to Goma. After lunch enjoy a short city tour of Goma. Day 10Cross the border to Uganda. Drive to the lake Bunyonyi.

On This day you cross over to the pearl of Africa- uganda – Proceed to lake Bunyonyi in Uganda a number one destination for birders and later, go for a cultural walk on the Lake’s southwestern shores to view a number of villages in their setting. Here pygmies walk over the mountains from Rwanda to sell their produce at the market at hakekuba. Enjoy a canoes ride in the afternoon before returning for dinner and Overnight at Bunyonyi Overland Resort

Day 11Morning after break fast- Drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park-

After Breakfast we will have a Short walk in nearby Village in Bunyonyi before Transferring to Queen Elizabeth National Park a 4 hours drive. The southern sector of Ishasha is famous for its tree-climbing lions. The concentration of game, with large herds of Uganda cobs, Topis and buffaloes, is found in the savannah highlands and at the Lake Edward flats, where the number of elephants is on the rise.

Late in the Afternoon after lunch, enjoy the unique 2-hour boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel and into Lake Edward to help you relax after a bumpy drive. This trip passes through possibly the highest concentration of Hippos, buffalos, elephants and many animals may be seen drinking at the water’s edge. This launch cruise offers an excellent platform for photography, bird watching and game viewing. The prolific bird life is colorful and stupendous with well over 550 resident species- Overnight in Kasese at Ruwenzori International Inn. Top: Mweya Lodge

Day 12Queen Elizabeth- Transfer to Jinja Night at Triangle Hotel or Nile Resort. (8 hours drive).

After an early breakfast- Set off with packed lunch for a game drive in Queen Elizabeth National Park to spot some wild animals like Lion, Topis, Elephants large herds of Uganda Kobs and buffaloes. After Early game drive- Transfer to Jinja driving through the scenic country side of Ankole. we will also have a short stop in Mbarara for Lunch – Take a stop over at the Equator for Photography before Proceeding to Jinja via Kampala. Dinner and Overnight at Triangle Hotel Or Nile Resort.

Day 13Nile River - Transfer to Entebbe

You are to have the time of your life on This day as you shall entirely dedicate it to fun doing fun filled activities after exciting but a bit strenuous past days in the wilds. It is your choice to opt for rafting, quad biking, and bungee jumping or to do it all. Spoil your self. You can also visit the source of the River Nile if time permits and later be transferred for a night in Entebbe.

Day 14Transfer at Entebbe Airport for Departure

Take breakfast and then visit local markets or Craft shops for souvenir shopping after which you will be transferred to the airport for your flight back with beautiful memories of Africa.
